Is it worth it to upgrade from A10-5800K to i3-6100?

I'm planning to buy the brand new RX 460 which is perfect for what I need in ESport, and I'm thinking to upgrade my APU too, which is an A10-5800K. I really need to save some money I mean my budget must be low as possible. I've seen some benchmark regarding this to CPU's which is the i3-6100 is much faster about 10% than my current APU. If I'm going to upgrade my APU to i3-6100 then I need to buy a new mobo which means I need to buy some ddr4 too even though there's a mobo out there that still support ddr3 on skylake platform. I decided that if I'm going to buy the i3-6100 then I'm going to buy a whole set so my current rig right now will be used by my younger brother who plays  ESport too rather than some of the parts from my old rig is lying around our house doing nothing.

What is your opinion about my situation? I need to save more money so I can buy a laptop which is I really need in my college if I'm going to buy the i3-6100 set I might not able to buy a laptop. so is that worth it to upgrade from the A10-5800K to i3-6100?

Would not recommend an i3 for gaming. At least an i5

What are you talking about? i3 is more than enough for light gaming.

What abot a 2nd hand i5? Buying CPUs used is safe, especially LGA type ones.

I used to buy some 2nd hand but I'm so unlucky with them that's why I said to myself just stick to brand new.

I am answering the question. There will be an improvement going into the i3 but it would not justify the cost of getting a whole new platform. the difference in cost between an i3 6100 and an i5 6400 is not that big.

For you maybe, but we're not so wealthy enough that's why I said up top that my budget for this one must be low as possible.

Then look at the i5 4460. It's still available and cheaper than Skylake.

That i3 is perfect for light gaming and even for some more demanding games

If you have a dGPU its a worthy upgrade but if not the iGPUs should be close to the same...
