I am looking to build a system that I can bring with me on my occasional vacation in our RV. I am thinking if I can get a way to possibly mount a monitor or a ups system to the case if I can. Any suggestions for cases?

Look for cases that offer vesa mounting.

Something like like this will work. Keep in mind, this system will be bite sized and not be powerful enough for gaming.  If you want more power, you will have to look at other options.

If you want the absolute smallest possible build go for an itx build, but what is the build for?

If you need help putting it together there is a new builds and planning section.

 •E5-2670 @2.7GHz • Intel DX79SI • EVGA 970 SSC• GSkill Sniper 8Gb ddr3 • Corsair Spec 02 • Corsair RM750 • HyperX 120Gb SSD • Hitachi 2Tb HDD •

Best thing I could think of would be something like a Define Nano S. Get the non windowed version. Get a monitor with VESA mount and drill holes into the side panel on your case, mount the monitor to the side panel. There are not really any limitations to what you can build in a case like that, yet its still plenty light and small to be considered portable. With some minimal modding there should also be room where the watercooling would be to get some sort of battery or UPS dealio set up in there.

But for real, this is what laptops and/or tablets are for. Its not really practical to mount a monitor to a case in any way. If all you need is light browsing then you could get something like a NUC and just double sided tape that thing to the back of a monitor, but if you were thinking of gaming or production, this isn't really a practical idea. But if you wanted to do it, that is how I would go about doing it.

Most of the laptops that I havery looked at for this solution are much more expensive th an the build that I am thinking of doing. Here is the list if you would like to see, btw I am going to change to card to the rx 470 or 460 and probably the case.

This has a 1060, double the storage, and for less cost.

I was thinking about getting a 460 because of the low tdp and low heat output since I am not going to get any Internet in our RV so I'm just gonna play games that I can screw around and have fun with like minecraft or gmod.

Do have an idea on how you'll mount the monitor? Like, on its own on top of the case? Or on a new mount all together? What's the size monitor you're thinking of using? Do you have this monitor already?

I would definitely suggest an intel i3 over that fx 6300 then,  the fx 6300 has a 95w tdp, and an i3 6100 has a 51w tdp, and the i3 6100t has a 35w tdp,

The monitor I am using is a 21.3 inch monitor that I am going to be replacing once I get my new pc and everything. I'm gonna drill holes in the side of the case that way the monitor will always be with the pc. I don't have the case or the pc yet though. I am just going through process of many iterations of planning before I build or even start constructing the build because I know that I will not think something through or miss something small but important.
