Somebody pls help, I am at my wits end and I am freaking out.  My 1070 came in today so tonight I did a clean uninstall of old drivers, shut down, removed old card, I putted the 1070 strix.  It was a bit of a snug fit as the outer case of the card is touching the ram slot handkerchief but it is touching plastic so it should be fine.  Plugged everything back in and turned it on.  No beeps and I can see the red glow of the card strobing.  However, my keyboard, mouse. Both logetatic, both multi key function.  And my three monitors, 2 hdmi and 1 dvid are not working.  My USB mic and hub are both drawing power so the mb can't be shorted out.  I tried doing hdmi connection direct to hdmi port on mb and vga, same thing.  I was wearing an esd wristband and I don't know what's going on.

Psu us is a 550 gold and mb,cpu came from a dell xPs studio 8300.

please help, i am tearing my hair out.

There is no other lane for that size.  It's a stock mb from a studio xPs 8300.  Damnit, if I need to buy a mb, I am going to scream...

its either that or maybe the ram other than that unless you forgot to make sure your monitor were set to the right input those are the only things that i could think of.

Please don't scream. But Dell motherboards have a pretty bad reputation for failing, particularly with overloading underspec'ed PCIe slots.

I would recommend going through every single connection again, and make sure nothing got bumped out of place during the installation.

Would that really prevent power from getting to stuff like keyboard and mouse?

if your pc inst running correctly then yeah it could. is it super likely? no not really but its worth a shot otherwise you can just assume its the motherboard.

well you are F*cked, the MB is fried,

also don't forget to try all of the components apart from the MB in another MB if they are working all you need to do is buy another MB,

that's better than buying all new components for the new system!

****SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH IT'S REALLY TERRIBLE*****

Been married to my wife for 3 years now! Yay!

Holy crap, it was the ram.  The damn ram was unseated.  Must have gotten upchucked when I was putting the card in.  I put the 1070 in, reseated the ram, checked everything, and booted it up and behold it booted up.

now if the damn drivers will install, keeps sprouting out an incompatibility error which, upon research, could mean win 10 isn't updated.  I am in the process of updating it now.  My external cd drive is actually, heh, in the mail and should arrive today which is why I couldn't use the cd as the case has no slot for cd.
