So I'm currently trying to run Arma 3 at 1080 and I'm not gettting very good frames. It seems to not be using a lot of resources. I have an i7 4790k clocked at 4 Ghz and a MSI 1070 Gaming X. They both seem to only run at about 50%. Is there a way that I can sort of force Arma to use more resources to get better frames?

Arma 3 is terribly optimized... you use max settings? how are your frames?

Yeah I'm using max settings and I'm getting around 40-50 frames. That's what I would get on my 960 which doesn't make sense because a 1070 is far better than a 960.

I know it's a lower tier CPU but it clearly shows this is the bottleneck in this game(the CPU)

EDIT; I don't know but since the CPU is only at 50% maybe the game doesn't use all cores to it's full potensial? someone can confirm this?

Arma 3's engine is incredibly CPU-dependent, far more than any other that I know of. I have an older CPU, an i5 2500K @ 4.6 Ghz, and a GTX 1070, and I get ~35 - 55 FPS in Arma 3 (with settings at medium-high). I upgraded my GPU from an R9 280X, and I don't really notice a difference in Arma 3 FPS after getting the GTX 1070.
