Upgrades

ok so my pc is slightly faulty and I was going to get a laptop to replace it but I have decided that I am most likely going to upgrade to an x99 system

my current spec:

fx6300

8gb corsair vengeance

gtx770

crosshair v formula z

(i know its not complete but the rest I don't intend on upgrading ...yet...)

I don't have enough money this month to upgrade the entire system though i would like to within the next 2 - 3 months,

should I get a gpu 1st? or should i replace my cpu mobo and ram?... 

 

if you have any other advice about what you would do in my position then go ahead ill listen to and consider any advice!

Budget?

Get 6500/6600(k)/6700(k) and 1151 socket mobo (z170 chipset if your going with unlocked). You might want to get ddr4 aswell but you can find 1151 mobos with ddr3 compatibilty

max per month is £750 ish i can go higher but id prefer not to 

in the case of a laptop I can go higher.

AMD to Intel is basically a complete overhaul.

I'd say depends on your PSU, if that's good then change out the backbone first (cpu, mobo, ram)

GTX 770 should be around GTX 960 performance so you would still be fine until you have enough to upgrade that.

That CPU will hold you back in alot of stuff if you decide to upgrade GPU first.

why do you want an x99 system? a Z170 system is more than enough....

im not going to be upgrading allot I i really just want a pc that can do anything very well for a long time, within reason ofc. I'm a pc gamer but I cant justify paying out allot often

a Z170 system is more than enough for a couple of years.... 6700k, 16gb ram, GTX 1070/1080 etc...
