Internet Goes Down Randomly

My internet goes down about every 10-15 minutes. It still says I am connected to the Wi-Fi but nothing loads. I have tried phoning my ISP and they said my Modem has only gone down twice in the last 3 months when I unplugged it. Changed the ethernet cable between the router and the modem, still no luck. Any suggestions?

They're probably lying. If you threatened to switch to another service I'm sure they'd be more helpful. If you have the option to anyway. Otherwise they'll call your bluff

I think your ISP is the problem. They need to do something about it, even if it involves sending tech support to your house.

I used to use a old Linksys router that would overheat and stop working around the same time, so I got a newer Netgear router and it worked just fine.

Try connecting to the router using an ethernet cable, if the issue continues to occur replace the router.

Yes it still occurs when i use an Ethernet cable.

We have the same problem with windstreams report it to the fcc. If they advertise 24/7 service you can report them and the government will breath down their backs until they fix it.

yeah then i dont really know. i've had something like that happened to one of my computer and it ended up being an ip conflict.

I have gotten the message for an IP conflict, how do i fix it?

usually in the gui of the router. who is your isp?

https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-1033 i believe this will tell you how to get into the gui and from there you'll have to figure out where you can reset the ips of your devices because some of your devices have the same ip address
