no you cant OC on the H97 board

even there are OC features, your OC is really limited

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

U can even OC intel non-k chip. People just try things out.  It doesnt mean everyone should do it :)

Yeah heard about that, it's great that you can take z170 motherboard and take some i3 6100 and overclock it to 4.4-4.6ghz , it's great for us ;D but bad for intel ;D

It Should not be possible since H97 chipsets aren't chipsets aren't meant to OC

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

I've heard the same, but I think it's only very specific models. I wouldn't recommending planning a build around it unless you're certain it's going to work.

For any interested, here's an overclocking article about the G3258 on Tom's Hardware that used an H81 board: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/pentium-g3258-b81-cheap-overclocking,3888.html

That's for Skylake, and it's a totally different matter than with Haswell. Don't mix the 2 up.

Afaik, you can only (realistically) OC the Pentium, not the i5 or i7. And that only on some non Z motherboards, not all of them.

Totally not recommended in the slightest.
