Is this a good solution?

My pc will be residing on my carpeted floor for a month or two until I get a new desk. I stuck a piece of cardboard directly underneath the filtered psu intake to keep it from sucking dust right out of the carpet. Is this an ok solution?

Seems to be an alright solution but I would try a plank of wood just for stability sake and the cardboard is probably giving way a little bit which is bad for air flow because your case feet aren't being used to their full potential.
