MSI GTX 1060 + Ultrawide Monitor???

Go to solution Solved by AresKrieger,

should be fine to run an ultra wide since it's essentially a 980 with more vram, and the 980 can handle that resolution without trouble

Worst case you turn down a setting or two in the most intense games

I currently have the MSI GTX 1060, and I'm hoping to finish up my gaming setup with an LG 29UM68-P (From Amazon). I am choosing this monitor under a budget. But my question is, will I be able to run the ultrawide with my 1060? Or will I need a g-sync monitor?

If you want to have that monitor and run 99% of games maxed at 60fps then you would need a 1070. My 980ti manages it and the 1070 is around the same performance. G sync is an option but it will add $200ish to the montor

Thanks, and I can agree with you on the 980 apart, it only BARELY misses on a few benchmarks. Thanks for the help, just wanted to be sure of myself xD
