You searched it up in the synaptic manager? (or whatever it's called)
Or directly on Steam's website?

If you installed the .exe file linux cannot run them.

Running it on Fedora here...

 

Installing on Linux is pretty easy actually. There are a few ways to do it. You can go to terminal and type commands to install it like these:

Ubuntu 

sudo apt-get install steam

Fedora 

sudo dnf install steam

NOTE: If those don't work, then you have to add the repository that has it. "steam" was in RPM fusion's for me.

Additionally, you can download a deb file and just install it from that. Also Steam's site just lets you download what you need if you go to their site on Linux.

Just click the green button on there and you are good to go (Or if you are lazy).
