Ok this may have a couple of different answers but options are good.

im looking to build a new computer. But there is a catch. I need it to run solid works.  3D modeling tool that is just plan awesome to play with.

I currently have a i5 3570k at 4.2ghz and the issues I have is when I do big calculations in solid works it just plan crashes.

The other hand is I need a gaming monster. I enjoy all the new triple A titles or at lease a majority of them but I do enjoy csgo. From time to time.

So so it boils down to server grade or consumer.

And what CPUs would do just the trick

You could always go big and just get something like an X99 processor.

I can tell you from first-hand experience the 5820k runs Solidworks and Inventor great. X99 platform is definetly what you want to be on and the 5820k or 6820k if you have the money is a good choice. It will also run games great while if you go the server hardware route, not so much (I also have a server).

Gaming - Ryzen 9800X3D | 64GB 6400mhz cl30 9070 XT

Homelab - many servers...constantly changing.

3970X/256GB - 5950X/128GB ECC - 5600G/96GB - 3400GE/16GB - 3400GE/16GB
