I dont really know where this topic should be, so ill give it a shot.

So I was walking around a store tonight, and i found a Samsung Gear VR for android S6/edge, S7/edge, and then just to the right of that, i found a product that mystified me. No idea what it is since i've never heard of it before let alone seen it. its a Xtream VR Vue FX VR viewer for phones up to 6" phone size. 15$ Xtream VR vs 100$ Samsung Gear VR headset. not bad yes, but i dont know if there is anything that is different between the two since im kinda new with VR but i wouldnt mind doing VR from my gaming pc and stream to my phone or something. that would be pretty cool i think

But also I was wondering, would there be any programs, apps, etc to make me be able to game on my desktop, and then see it on my phone via Cable or wifi? I have decent wifi i believe. I can get about 7MB/s download from steam, and upload is quick i believe. my Speedtest scores are 25 Ping, 31.45mbps download, and 13.07mbps upload if that helps at all.

As a concept, it might exist. However, no matter how fast your wifi, you will not be able to run wireless. There's a reason that the Vive and the Rift still have cables. You need a ridiculously high bandwidth. I'm not sure the idea would work or have support, but it is a cool idea.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

I can see it being possible for local movies or games from your phone, but any games over wireless likely won't be good as VR requires a lot of processing to accomplish the effect and wireless may not provide the stability or response that the Gear, Vive, or Oculus can attain.

If you're wondering about the Gear VR, though: It has a hidden plug for your phone to sit on.

The FX Vue is VASTLY different and a hands down inferior product.  The reason the Samsung Gear VR is so special is because it plugs into your phone and uses advanced sensors in the s6/s7 to have much more accurate head tracking. The FX Vue is essentially the same as using a google cardboard headset, which makes the $15 price tag seem not so nice.
