PC Rebuild

Hey guys, looking to rebuild my PC that I built last year. My current budget is around 400 CAD for the CPU/MOBO/RAM and then whatever the GPU is going to cost on top of that. I already have the PSU, Case and HDD. My plans for the computer are to game and maybe do light photo editing, gaming would be the newest titles (BF1, The Division, Skyrim Remastered). I have one 1080p 23.8" monitor and probably will not upgrade for a while. Not sure whether to pick 1060 or 480 but I have selected the 1060 in this build. I have all peripherals that I need. If you guys could give your feedback that would be great, thanks!

Yeah, that looks good... would try and squeeze an SSD in there too if you can afford it, just for the OS.

SSD for OS is an amazing thing and I greatly recommend it. They're inexpensive nowadays and a great improvement over mechanical.

Never used an SSD before, my new laptop came with an SSD......

My main PC which uses a mechanical drive now feels sluggish and slow after getting used to the superior speed of an SSD.

I am not sure you need to upgrade your CPU, unless it is currently causing issues in your games that is? (also voting for SSD!)

Do you think so? Would definitely be in favor of spending as little as possible. Which card do you think I should go with and how high end could I go without the CPU bottlenecking my system? Also do you have any rough idea as to what the difference in performance would be if I upgraded my whole system as opposed to just the graphics card?

Battlefield 4, Just cause 3, Fallout 4, Witcher 3. Do you think the 1070 is too powerful for my system if I were to put one in? Or would I not be yielding all of the performance that could be had?

BF4 will be fine that barely require much CPU at all...

Wow, have never seen these graphs/comparisons before, thanks for showing them to me. Do you think a 1070 would work in this build as I would upgrade the rest in the future, or should I get something a little less powerful?

The RX 480 will probably be fine!

I would also put an SSD into the build. The RX 480 will be fine.

Thanks for the videos, showed me that the 480 would be ok for my needs. If I wanted to upgrade my system between this summer and next summer (student currently and only work in the summer). Could I put the 1070 in my build and then upgrade the other components next year? Would this be a good/bad idea? Thanks

1070 is advised to be paired with a i7...

Hmm.. Would it be ok for a year until I get an i7 or maybe i5 6600k? Also considering selling my console and just switching to PC.

If you want to spend that much then sure, I vote for 480 or 1070.

Sounds like a plan, I plugged the 1070 into my current build on pc part picker and the total power draw was 334watts. Should that be ok with my PSU? ( Sorry for all of the questions, but want this to work without any hiccups and you are really great help)

I was thinking of an i7 6700 (locked) because I do not do much overclocking (maybe I should with my current cpu). But I guess I will wait for zen to come out and see what comes of that.
