What do you guys think of world of warcraft legion, Will you play, were you beta....

Yes i did beta, Us rank 1 World rank 2 for Raid gear after progression, top 150 parses on almost every Mythic fight. 

 

Legion is going to be okay, not really much better then WOD. Its got better quests (world quests) and other features, but it can be just as boring. You will enjoy the first two months or so like everyone did with WOD, and then your interest will taper off if your casual. Raiding looks good, but most of the fights require more tuning and fixes (Queen eli does not even work properly when we beta testa) 

 

PVP looks bland, even with a revamped system it just looks uninteresting (to me at least, you may love it).

 

Leveling up is quite fun, doing the story, but it will only be fun for the first two times at most, after that it will be same ol stuff like WOD was.

 

Overall ill give Legion a 7/10 for now. Wod was a 6/10 to start, then it dropped to a 2/10 after the second raid. HFC was a very good raid, but there was not much if at all content for anyone else to do, and story line was cut to much. WOD was all about what was CUT, legion looks to be better but still we will have to see what story is cut. They already seem to want to skip some of the stories of what happened with Voice readings/ comic strip/ books.

Here's a quick question for you. I used to play WOW harcore back in the day (before I had adult responsibilities haha). Do you think this expansion will recapture the state of how WOW was during TBC (albeit with RAIDing more casual)?

 

I played WOD but as you say it got boring really quickly at end game, they need to bring back TBC

The pre-patch is already out so you can test class playstyle ect right now.  There probably won't be major changes to that, just some tuning, by the time legion actually comes out.  IMO the game has been absolutely gutted.  It started in Cata and has gotten progressively worse with every expansion.  The problem with the game as it is currently is that it's so focused on end game content.  They kill off every other play style that becomes popular like BG twinking ect; and it's those playstyles that kept people subscribed in down times between raids, seasons and such.  Combined with the complete lack of the old school social experience of guilds being meaningful and needing to create and preserve social groups to do group content has caused WoW to blend into a sea of bland gaming options.  With that being said, it's not particularly worse than the others, it's just no longer special.

Will it recapture the state of the game? No, and it never will. Your fond memories of exploring with friends, grinding out gear, and enjoyment will always be a memory for you. Trying to recapture that feeling is nearly impossible, the game is just not the same. 

 

Can you still enjoy the game for what it is now? Yes. Most of the classes have been made to be simple. You can make more complex rotations, talent choices, and in legion artifact tree choices, but for the most part they will be within a 1-5% threshold. The top and bottom players are now closer together, which imo is a terrible thing because no matter how hard you try and how much skill you have, you are being more and more limited by the devs.

Sigh.... I wish it would go back to the days where Epic gear was hard to get, ohh well!

I have been kind of missing the game myself lately and wondering if it would be good to step back in. I will have to think on this for a while yet.

I don't do PVE, but for PVP I would stay away.
