Hey guys so i have recently built a watercooled tj08-e.

Have a front 180mm silverstone fan cooling the 180mm nexoss monsta 180 radiator

xspc 750 v4

xspc 120mm with corsair sp120, with noise adaptor

alphacool gpx block on the 970

Playing stuff like fallout 4 the temps are 36c on gpu and 45-48 on cpu.

But when i play dota 2 the temps jump up dramtically and heat up my room way to much, do i have an airflow problem?

What can i do to bring temps/heat down?

well, what speed do you have the pump running at? also, have you tried setting a more aggressive fan curve?

also, nice build!

I have the pump running in i believe 7v mode as running it at full is just crazy loud. I want to go for silence but i guess thats not possible is it?

well, the general rule is to have 120mm rad space for every component, so you should be in the clear. and since Fallout 4 seems to be running great, there really shouldn't be a problem with the cooling setup or the thermal compound. so yeah, im afraid you really do need to set the fans a bit louder :(

Damn yeah its just dota 2 so far that sends the temps sky high, i thought it would be airflow that makes it so hot? doesnt seem like much air can escape

i don't think so. the intake 180mm fan supplies a good amount of flow over your RAM and other components, straight out the back 120mm and IO gaps. to be honest, you probably have better airflow then i do with my setup :P

even the fins on your GPU block get a good amount of flow.

i could be completely wrong though, since i have only seen that one pic.

No you do not have an airflow problem if you are heating up your room. Well maybe that's wrong,   your room has the airflow problem now.
Many people don't understand how much heat 300 or 500 or 1000 watts of electronics actually produces. All fine and fun in the winter. but in the summer I change my fan layout and exhaust out a dryer vent mounted in a piece of corrugated HDPE in my window.

Maybe dota 2 is just abit more straining on the cpu then fallout 4?

probably. usually moba games are a lot more CPU heavy then general tripleA titles. can you maybe open MSI afterburner and check the CPU usage while playing DOTA?

Exactly what is your temps when playing dota2?

And what are your ambient temps?

Please remember, that no matter how many rads, fans or pumps you add to your system, you still need to dissipate the same amount of energy / heat to the air in your room. Therefore, your room will still heat up..

If it's the ambient temperature that gets too high, you need to cool the room, not the pc.. Get a small AC system or open a window if that's an option..

I don't think there's anything you can do to bring the heat down. The components are getting hot and the heat is being blown into the room through the radiators. No matter how many radiators you have the heat is still going to be there.

Keeping components cool requires more radiator space. Keeping your room from heating up would mean opening up windows/door or air conditioning.
