ram / differences in mhz

hi i'm confused and looking foe some help about upgrading my ram, currently i have 8 GB of hyper x fury but i'm not sure what frequency it runs at as in task manager it says i have 1600 mhz but on the box it says i have 1866 mhz please help

You need to enable XMP in the bios. But for that little extra mhz, there is no noticeable difference between the two.

Keep in mind before buying some new ram that faster clocked ram sees little to no performance difference in video games.

thanks agen so if i buy 16 gb it will have a performance difference agents 8gb

and 1600mhz will have next to no difference agenst 2400mhz

I would stick to the same speed and CAS memory if possible.

But mixing sizes is usually okay.
