hi i'm confused and looking foe some help about upgrading my ram, currently i have 8 GB of hyper x fury but i'm not sure what frequency it runs at as in task manager it says i have 1600 mhz but on the box it says i have 1866 mhz please help

Keep in mind before buying some new ram that faster clocked ram sees little to no performance difference in video games.

thanks agen so if i buy 16 gb it will have a performance difference agents 8gb

and 1600mhz will have next to no difference agenst 2400mhz

I would stick to the same speed and CAS memory if possible.

But mixing sizes is usually okay.
