Help with choosing a system!

I am in the us, with a budget of around $600-$700, and i have put together a list of parts with amd and intel processors, and am not sure which one to get, as i am planning to build one of the two for christmas, anyway here are the lists :

AMD: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/gKyskT

INTEL: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/sHYykT

Thanks!

Intel is the path to choose and is best optimised, and is much more powerful than the fx 9590, let alone the fx 6300.

The 1060 will beat the 380x easily but the FX platform is really quite old by now so the the intel list wins on the CPU

more modern platform, combined the cpu and gpu horsepower of the two builds.
you could go down with the psu a bit and get the 6500, but I prefer a good PSU over a slightly higher clock

there's nothing to recommend anymore IMHO. too power hungry and no performance you get back for the power draw

The Intel build has a much better CPU, but the AMD build has a better graphics card.

I'd recommend the build by 19_blackie_73, but if you want to go with one of your own builds I'd recommend the AMD one.

Make sure to get an AIB card. Switch the 480 for the 1060 if you feel like it.

why are you taking the old architecture with haswell, out of the two, the second one is the one you should go with. allthough for video editing, you should take the last build and put this: http://pcpartpicker.com/product/psR48d/intel-cpu-bx80646e31231v3 in it, then you're golden. More threads, faster editing. You don't need to change a thing, just swap that cpu
