GPU making noises

I got this only recently and it only happens when I start playing a game. Then my R9 290X starts to make these noises. Is there a way to stop it and also what causes it.

what noises...you have to give more info than just "noises"

Yh I think it is but when I ramp the fans up to like a high speed like 80% then I can't really hear it but it makes like a whining.

so the card makes noises when you set the fans to run at 80%..nice

No I mean when I am playing a game it makes the noises but if I turn the fans to 80% then you can just only hear it .

Yh but it is a bit louder and I heard that once you get it, you can't really stop it, is that true and also I got this GPU from Ebay and they said it works and is hardly used. Do you have to use your GPU a lot for this to happen.

You have coil whine, no known cure. But sometimes running an extreme benchmark for awhile can help.

Oh dam. Knew I got this GPU cheap for a reason. It was that. But I do like the 290x I may do some benchmarks to see if it helps then. Thanks

You can also increase/decrease voltage and that might have a positive or negative for that matter effect on the coil whine.
