Hi friends,

I just resubbed to WoW in preparation for the legion expansion, and for shits n gigs, I thought I would see how my rig can handle the new graphical settings. I cranked it all the way up and of coursed dropped down to 30 fps, but I was wondering, which component in my pc was limiting me. I have a really old processor (see pic) and I would be surprised but not that surprised if my GTX 950 couldn't handle it.

However I look on afterburner and neither component is being cranked to 100%, so if someone could give me some insight it would be much appreciated!

For those familiar with the game, the graphs were clocked while I was flying around in the main area of Orgrimmar.

Wow requires good single threaded performance something which amd cpus currently lack. So yeah I'd say that the phenom is currently bottlenecking your system. Also do note that wow isn't really that well optimised.

Could most probably be due to lack of optimization of Wow. Afaik wow doesn't utilize that many cores so some cores aren't utilized as much as others. Meaning that cpu won't be at 100%.

I think David cassar is right. An i3 would be an excellent upgrade

He didn't ask for an upgrade path, he just asked what was the cause of his problem
