Ram Types

Hi fellas,

 

Just want to know if I can use DD2 ECC memory with an e8400 but obviously lacking the ecc function or will everything explode and the world end?

 

This ram:  QIMONDA HYS72T512420EFA-3S-C 4GB PC2-5300 DDR2-667MHZ ECC CL5 240-PIN DIMM Memory Module
