I am currently running windows 10 Home and am going to be switching from an FX-4350 to an FX-8350, as well as adding 8 more gigs of DDR3 RAM. Is there anything i need to do before switching my hardware to make sure that windows doesn't freak out about the extra cores and RAM? (apart from do a backup witch i have already done)

Adding additional RAM has never caused me grief from within Windows in my 10+ years dickering about with computers.

Your motherboard might need to have settings changed in the BIOS if you're mixing and matching RAM speeds or overclocking, but otherwise RAM is RAM is RAM.

For the processor upgrade, you should probably be fine as you're sticking within the same AMD FX CPU family.

The AMD Chipset drivers for your motherboard should simply detect the new CPU boot normally.

Windows might install additional driver software upon first boot with the new CPU, and ask you to reboot once, but otherwise you'll be fine.

A fresh install as @Julian5 suggested will always ensure you get the best performance out of your system, but I think that'd overkill in your case.

If you were changing the motherboard out to switch over to AMD's APU CPUs or to an Intel CPU, then a reinstall would be highly recommended.
