**solved**

I have a Asus p5gc-mx/1333 motherboard with a E4600 Duo, 3gb of ddr2 and two samsung sata 250gb hard drives.

As one of the drives was completely empty, I decided to remove it for a new computer.

First time i turned it on after removal, everything was fine, but on the second time it displayed an error message for the Master IDE HDD not detected

I wanted to know what it might be, because the computer is really slooowww right now to the point of me using my tablet to do everything it can

But a computer is a computer and I have things to do on it, so any help is welcome

As usual, everything backfires on me, that's just my luck...

I mean, have you just tried unplugging the thing and replugging it?

IDE have pins which select the slave and master drive.  Are you sure they're in the correct place? if there are no pins present, check the bios to ensure the correct HD is master etc.

PC - NZXT H510 Elite, Ryzen 5600, 16GB DDR3200 2x8GB, EVGA 3070 FTW3 Ultra, Asus VG278HQ 165hz,

Mac - 1.4ghz i5, 4GB DDR3 1600mhz, Intel HD 5000.  x2

Endlessly wishing for a BBQ in space.

Yup

Now its working properly, I think i connected it to the wrong SATA

it was on a black one and worked properly when I connected it to a red one.

Both just have the sata power connector and the sata/motherboard connector
