So I've ordered everything that i needed to build my new PC but they gpu where out of stock... So i decided to wait and see what the titan x pascal would offer before i put in a other purchase.

Now i need to choose what gpus i will purchase... 1080 mostlikely. I am using a x34 predator for monitor x2 so i will be using sli two ways.

As for budget it pretty high but i feel like a Titan x pascal might not be worth it and i should go with two 1080 aftermarket oc And switch to 1080ti if they over come out.

So what 1080s should i get and does anyone think that a Titan x pascal is worth it or should i keep my first idea of switching to 1080ti ?

Thank you.

Obviously, there is a huge diminishing return on a Titan X Pascal, and it costs exactly one (1) buttload of money.

If you can afford it, go for it. Is it worth it? Well... that depends on what that kind of money is worth to you.

Personally, I think the 1080 is plenty of power (and money), even for the most demanding titles.

Titans are NEVER worth it.

What types of games are you going to be playing? And what settings/resolution?

If all you play is minecraft, get a 1060. If you want to play battlefield 1 at 4k ultra 144fps, multiple 1080s

As for the 1080Ti, if you can wait till they launch it, wait, but otherwise don't bother. by the time the 1080Ti launches, you may as well wait for the 1180 to launch

Given some of the issues and return on the configuration ($ aside), I can't see running two video cards. If you want the most performance and budget isn't an issue, I'd just get a single Titan X Pascal.

But for me, even with budget aside, I probably wouldn't go with anything more than a single GTX 1080.

If money is absolutely no issue to you, get 2 titan XP's in SLI, put them on water, and laugh at anything that comes your way.

Realistically though, that's a lot of dough to be forking out. 2 1080's in SLI will almost certainly outperform a titan XP in games that have SLI support (even if the scaling is low). and the price jump between a 1080 SLI vs a 1080TI SLI would be worth the performance difference, but not if you're getting 1080 SLI now and then 1080TI SLI later. Unless you can get a great used resale on your 1080's it might just be more affordable to get the Titans now and call it a day.

Everyone likes to hate on titans because they're "so expensive" or "overpriced".... sure they aren't the best bang for your buck. but they ARE the best as far as raw performance goes. no way to argue that point. If you want the absolute best, and if you have the kind of money to throw at a setup like that, then maybe its the way to go for you. Of course be warned, titans can run VERY hot, so be sure you have a good cooling solution or case airflow planned ahead.

I will be playing titles like battlefield 1 maxed out on a x34 predator monitor that is 100hz and almost full 4k. Keep in mind it's a 34inch curved monitor so it's a demanding setup That's why i would sli and i can burn 2000$ for the perfect setup without any problems but it has to be worth it

Do you think there will be titan x pascal aftermarkets or nvidia is going to keep that exclusive to them? I plan on a aio watercooler for my CPU but would of like to keep the gpu cooled on there own.

Battlefield 1 and other high demanding games at Max resolution with a predator x34 monitor so to keep everything perfectly smooth i am thinking two 1080s.

When the 1080s come over to the market i would get those and give the 1080s to my gf.

As far as I know there never has been nor will there ever be aftermarket titan coolers. There will be 1080Ti aftermarkets though if you wanted to go that route. but again, I don't think its the best idea to get those as well as 1080TI's. But if you have the money, then that decision is up to you.
