420 grams for PLA and 349.44 grams for ABS

Does anyone know how much filament would it take to make a 6X8X7 Block object?

Gpu- GTX 960 4gb

Motherboard- Asus M5A97 plus

Ram- Hyper X Fury 8gb 1866

PSU- EVGA 600b

Using

  • Density: 1.25 g/cm^3
  • Volume: 0.80 cm^3/g or 800 cm^3/kg
  • 1.75 mm filament length for 1 kg spool: ~ 330 meters / ~ 1080 feet
  • 3.00 mm filament length for 1 kg spool: ~ 110 meters / ~ 360 feet

and

  • Density: 1.04 g/cm^3
  • Volume: 0.96 cm^3/g or 960 cm^3/kg
  • 1.75 mm filament length for 1 kg spool: ~ 400 meters / ~ 1310 feet
  • 3.00 mm filament length for 1 kg spool: ~ 130 meters / ~ 430 feet

After my calculations for 336^3 of filament you would need 420 grams for PLA and 349.44 grams for ABS

Motherboard- Asus M5A97 plus

Ram- Hyper X Fury 8gb 1866

Ummm.....I don't think filament is measured in mm.

Yeah no problem, the cube is measured in cm cubes and the filament is in litters or grams.

It depends on the fill density, just throw it into cura, it will tell you a pretty good estimate.

I don't have a 3D printer myself thus, if you have one or are more experienced then me then you should know the exact amount he should need. I gave him my answer after researching this topic, keep in mind that I might be wrong.

Bam, check my signature if that's not enough of a clue. I'll pop that cube into Cura and see what comes up.

edit: what units is that cube in?

@Matrix13 Here's a better experienced folk, he knows more than me so ask any more questions you would like to be answered.
