Hi,

A few questions about mounting HDD's

Can you mount a HDD Sideways as long as you use anti vibration rubber between the brackets and HDD?

Would there be much of a performance difference if it is mounted sideways?

What would be the problems if i did this?

Thanks in advance and hope these questions arn't to stupid.

As long as it's mounted at right angles. Anything else will be unbalanced.

Does it even matter how you orient the HDD? I have mine in a 5.25 bay with rubber mountings (Sharkoon vibe fixer 3) And it gives this weird rattering noise everytime i start my PC (just >1s). either that or my dvd drive does that noise.

who cares...

That's normal, its spinning up after being turned off, then it settles.

"I've heard", that your data will fall off if you mount your drive sideways  :P

Its all good, remember they have and will have computers out in space and there is no up or down and all is working.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.
