MOBO + CPU + RAM swap (AMD for Intel)

Hey Guys.

 

I am currently trying to figure out upgrade for my build. Basically, I've got all parts mentioned in partpicker (end of this topic) but mobo, cpu and ram are different.

 

My mobo is MSI 990FGA gaming, CPU AMD FX8350 black edition and RAM Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB...

 

As You can see I want to jump into team Intel... do You think this upgrade is worth it? I kinda feel AMD CPU is freaking sometimes, causing ingame issues or incompatibility with other components... I also want to go custom water cooling later on.

I think that's not worth it.

Corsair fans aren't very good IMO. They are noisy and provide poor air flow and pressure. At least they look OK.

 

I am curious about the 2x GTX 970's. I have a single GTX 970, and hit VRAM limits occasionally with it, resulting in FPS drops to low single digits, this will likely be a more regular issue running SLI as games get more demanding on VRAM. I would personally put the water cooling budget into something that will directly give a performance boost instead like a GTX 1080.

Hey thanks for reply  i already have comp built (AMD)... i am just not satisfied and wanna more so mobo cpu and ram need change but i was not sure if it will prove to be a huge jump ahead

 

meaning, I'm already on water h100i and custom will be a thing in few months when I'll have time to do it

i highly recommend 970sli no issues at all running all games on ultra 1080p 60fps and almost never drops under it, if so than no more than 5ps which is nothing haha and as I've been told dx12 will be able to double vram if cards are in sli set up but we'll see won't we  so do you thing that changing amd components for intel as mentioned in topic is worth it?

I would wait for Zen if I where you. (AMD`s next CPU can be awesome but if you want Intel then you should still wait because then Intel`s prices should drop and you will save a whole lot of money!)

But, Zen and Kaby are just around the corner. If you are going to upgrade, you might as well just hold off a bit longer and jump straight into the newest tech. While the 8350 isn't a very good processor, it's still passable enough for you to live with it for a while. I lived with a 2.4ghz 3 core APU + Gtx 970 for almost a year while waiting for Skylake to launch, and I don't regret it one bit.

it is all reasonable answers and I thank You for reminding me to be patient... I decided to wait until the end of this year and maybe untill black friday will come  and wait to see all those price drops, zen architecture and linuses/lukes reviews and benchmarks to help me with decision afterwards  thanks guys!
