no hes just trying to avoid any risks. thanks for the link. do you think the cable is stable and works as well as wifi?

I don't know, I found this guide on lifehacker that might be helpful though, this will for sure work.

hey so my dads really strict and took down the wifi. i have an Ethernet female socket in my room and want to use it to access internet through an itouch 5. would it work in this order?

iphone/itouch

V

Lightning to USB Camera Adapter

V

Apple USB Ethernet Adapter

V

ethernet cable

V

router

if this works, will it let me access internet through apps other than safari?

i've seen videos of people getting errors and having to load it twice for it to work so im hesitant to buy all this stuff to have an unstable connection that SOMETIMES works in safari.

ive seen people with usb hubs and stuff but i thought i could dumb it down with this and wanted to know if it would work. thanks, appreciate your help in advance.

The only way to know if it works is to test it but I would just order this: http://redpark.com/lightning-ethernet-cable/

Also if your dad turned off the WiFi because you did something wrong, just don't bother with it and tell him you're sorry, he'll most likely eventually turn it back on.

i like linux

Not to ruin your hope, but your dad most likely just turned off the gateway, not just wifi. That would mean your port is off. And if he was smart enough to disable wifi only, he probably thought about disconnecting your ethernet jack too.

My native language is C++

We still have Ethernet. My Ethernet jack works.
