First of all,i wasn't sure how to attach a picture so i will leave a link https://www.google.gr/search?q=installing+router/phone&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=UVlUUpLCDvH54QTtr4HoAw&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1680&bih=926&dpr=1#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=AEbgz4DzDHhtAM%3A%3B7-tzCOKDAWt-CM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.slt.lk%252Fsites%252Fdefault%252Ffiles%252Fimages%252Fimage-connecting-router.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.slt.lk%252Fpersonal%252Finternet%252Fbroadband%252Fsupport%3B647%3B486

Now...I am supposed to have a 24mbps speed from my internet provider but i can only get max 0,8mB(right now i'm downloading with 0,2).I was thinking about the setup in my home because i use broadband and i realized that it isn't installed like in the picture above.Instead of using one wall socket and a splinter,i'm using a wall socket for the phone in the living room which has a splinter too which i don't know for...and i'm using another wall socket in my room with a cable going into the router and then in my pc.Can that affect the speed ?

What does the modem say as the line speed in the web control panel?

hmm..can you explain that to me?which is the web control panel? I really know nothing about networking

Edit:On the adsl line it says 2176kbps down and 965kbps up....and on the connection speeds it says 195/6kBps

Hm, you might want to call your ISP and see if they can check the speeds coming onto your house from their end...

Also, try everything with different splitters and cables, and see if that does something to the speeds.

What does the modem tell as the line's power level (if it even displays that on adsl, can't remember)?

Yea I guess it's that then.

EDIT: Also, is there a noise or SNR level visible?

Transmit Power is 12,5dB on Local and 19,3dB on Remote while SNR level is 8,5dB on Local and 9dB on Remote.By the way, right now my down speed is 0,7-0,8mBps while yesterday was 0,2mBps.

Well, I guess the easiest path here then is just for you to call your ISP and ask, the levels seem allright, although the SNR level is a bit low...

With a 24mbps connection you should be getting about 2mBps speeds.

Up to 24Mbps is the theoretical maximum an ADSL line can go. You will never achieve these speeds. 0.8MB/s (6.4Mbps) isn't too bad. This isn't your ISPs fault, it's just the nature of how ADSL works. Further from the exchange, slower your speed will go.

They offer VDSL line up to 50/10mbps  for 10 more euros(i'm already paying 37) .Would that be profitable?Would i see any improvements?

Well, I think VDSL uses the same line, but different tech. I'd go for it if you can also switch back to the old plan if the VDSL is no good.

The slowest I've seen VDSL go is 18Mbps, so I'd definitely go for it. Ask them to do a prequalification to tell you a range of what you will get, so yeah, I'd give it a go.
