I decided to help my friend upgrade his PC. Currently he has a gtx 650ti and an AMD A10 6700. He wants to upgrade his GPU to the GTX 1060 but I think his AMD A10 6700 will bottleneck the GPU. I'm not too familiar with AMD hardware since I prefer Intel. Does anyone have recommendations for a CPU or APU that's not too expensive, that won't bottleneck the GTX 1060, and fits the same socket as the AMD A10 6700?

Thanks

Everyone needs to stop saying CPU's will bottleneck these new GPU's. Sure, that CPU won't be the best in the world, but it'll be perfectly fine for a 1060. No matter what something in your system is a bottleneck somewhere. he'd get better performance with a higher end CPU, but he'll be fine with that one. I say wait for Zen and go from there if he's go the money to upgrade.

The CPU will not decrease the performance of the GPU, yes you might have to turn down some settings to avoid cpu throttling but you really need to understand how bottlenecking works.

AMD doesn't currently have any good CPU options for you on the market and it is unlikely that anything will come out before ZEN, I would suggest leaving the CPU as-is or switching to intel
