So I currently pay $45 per month for 10/5 internet from them and then I look on their website and I see this and start drooling over this

but then I realize it costs $300 per month and I start to lean more to the $50 per month 75/25 plan.

This is fiber. I have the same with my provider 150$  for 1Gbps (actually 940Mbps..at least they are honest about not actually reaching 1Gbps.. but at least it is unlimited which is a luxury here in Canada).

But anyway, assuming you can afford it, you need to be a new neighborhood practically, because to get these speeds, you need a direct fiber line at home (my ISP charges you for installation for this). So you might not be able to get it, even if it was cheaper, unless they is a high demand for your ISP to put fiber on the "last mile" to offer this service.

Yeah :) $150 CAD for 1gbps is cheaper than $300 US for 2Gbps. I do have a direct fiber Line at where I live, but still. I guess I have to live with 10 Mbps. I wish I could get an unlocked connection. Or actually small business internet, because where I am It is stupid fast for like $100 a month

Yea... I have 30Mbps because the limit for 10Mbps is stupid low at 60GB. 2.25 $/GB (before taxes) if you pass your limit. and its 5$ for 25GB "data pack".

So, for me it comes out more than getting the higher speed, with 150GB per month. Although I just noticed.. it is now 400GB... Hmm I'll will increase for me, else I'll need to bug them. I must admit, I am impressed. Maybe it is an error on the page, 'cause usually they increase it by 10-25GB, not 250GB.

I guess the $/speed is worse because I have no data cap

You dont want FIOS. If you get really unlucky they will sell your area of to Frontier. Whom just got sued over the latest batch of Verizon customers they took over. They could not resolve many issues during the switch. Also, Verizon doesnt really want to be part of the Wired Broadband game. They see that the money is in offering Fixed LTE service with low caps and high overages. Verizon the last few years has been selling off areas. Mostly DSL but some has been FIOS areas. Im waiting for them to cap their Fiber service, just because their CEO is a dick and would do that.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
