Hi everyone,

I've had my 290x since its release back in 2014 and was wondering if there's anything better on the market atm?

I don't necessarily have any problems with it, I just feel like a upgrade atm would be the best time.

Also lower power consumption and lower heat overall is always a plus to me.

Would the RX 480 be a good upgrade or are the newer nvidia cards really all the rage?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

RX 480 about the same performance as a 290 iirc

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Wait for the RX 490 and see how it compares to the GTX 1070, after that get whatever one is better and or fits your budget.
