hdmi - razer core?

since my laptop dosnt have a usb type c port, im wondering if i can use a hdmi to usb type c cable to connect to the raze core. is that poossible? if so how would it effect peroformance?

No, it is not possible. the Thunderbolt connection is necessary for the high data transfer rates need to sync the CPU and GPU.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

It uses USB C not just for the display but for the sheer bandwidth that USB C can push. HDMI is nowhere near fast enough.
