Hi guys,

I have a bunch of old game consoles, DvD's Blu-rays etc that just seem to be cluttering up my apartment and was wondering if any of you have any tips, i have never sold anything in this way before and im wondering if there is anything i should watch out for, maybe some tips from seasoned sellers? I rarely dive into things without doing a little research first :)

First thing you will want to do is scope out a good price on your items.

No matter how hard you try, if your list is overpriced compared to similar offerings on eBay, it won't sell.

There's always a range of price for items though, depending on condition, so you'll want to decide what's more important: Selling it quick (Mid-lower end of price range) or selling it for higher profit (mid-higher end of price range). Never be the cheapest (People will often wonder what's wrong with it), and of course, don't sell for the highest either.

Also check recently closed lots, for the price that goods were sold for - this helps see what people are actually willing to pay.

Make sure to weigh all items, and estimate box sizes for shipping, so you can use the auto calculator (It will automatically generate a shipping price based on their Zip Code (or location), and you will be able to generate a shipping label electronically, so you just print it out and slap it on the box.

For stuff like movies/dvds/blu-rays, consider selling a lot of items together (a collection of, say, action movies) - especially for stuff people don't really want specifically - this will make it easier to sell (Eg: People might buy a lot collection for several specific titles, and consider the other movies included a "bonus"), it will also keep the shipping costs down.

For really popular/in demand items, sell them separately to try and make the most profit.

With all items, make sure to clearly describe, in plain English, the item, what is included, and the condition. Make exact note of any defects or things that might lower the value (a rip in the DVD sleeve, for example).

Take pictures of multiple angles. Don't list anything without at least a couple pictures. Take detailed pictures of issues that may lower the value. This is to protect you in case someone didn't realize they bought a DVD with a broken case, for example.

Also check your seller settings - you used to be able to block buyers with bad feedback, as well as ones with zero feedback. You could also block overseas sales. Adjust these to your desire.

For anything that isn't very expensive, I would suggest limiting sales to your local region (Eg: If you're American, limit shipping to North America). Shipping internationally can increase the risk of fraud, and it can decrease the likelihood of a good sale w/ good feedback. People will often leave bad feedback for things that are out of your control, such as shipping fees (if you used automatic calculations, you can get bad feedback about shipping fees removed), or local customs import fees.
