m95 mouse macro not working?

Hey, so i set the #9 thumb button to type something just to check them so it's saying "hello" now, and it says it's set when i click button #9, hardware play back is on, but when i click the button it just prints a 9 (which is the key i have assigned to it, so i can assign things to 9 and use the mouse to do it) does anyone know how i can have it type when i press that button?
