So cheesy name aside, the XBox 360 is basically a crappy PC. There's already ways to run Linux on it so I thought why not turn it into a NAS? It has a hard drive bay. I have seen similar projects from research and I think it's possible, in addition to this, I will try to integrate it into my desk. 

 

I have no idea if this will work, but why not try!

 

I will be posting here along the way (so pretty often) so follow if you're interested.

can you also do benchmarks to see how it actually performs compared to PC's

To be fair, the 360 (and especially the PS3) would have been pretty top of the line PC's back in their day. Even now they'd be acceptable.

 

But this intrigues me.
