So I mostly like more of the hardware sides of things and im good with it too, but when it comes to code i dont know much at all. Im kinda realizing that most people that code get paid more then the hardware side and also i think it would be a good thing to learn some code. BTW im 14 and want to start some coding. I have messed around in scratch, but thats just about it.

for HTML/CSS use W3school.

you can try codecademy for other languages but some syntax on that is out of date,

lynda.com is good but that cost money.

youtube is good too

Khanacademys Javascript courses, and courses in general, are superior to Code academy, and are excellent for learning.

Lynda's fees are really worth it in the long run. My parents currently pay for it for me, cuz its education, but even so.

I agree with the recomendation for Javascript. Also agree that you could start with something really easy like HTML + CSS so you can quickly and easy see your results and see your page layouts.

Then javascript is a fairly easy way to get an introduction into the basics of coding like calling functions and such and even though website events for animations and such are fairly simple examples of coding before you know you're down the rabbit hole coding your own applications.

Do HTML CSS Javascript FIRST. Concentrate on CONCEPTS, not syntax. Once you get concepts, any language is just learning the *slightly* different syntax.

I don't recommend you to start with HTML or CSS because they are not programming languages at all. I advise you to start with Python or C++ since all Introduction to Computer Science and Programming courses uses or Python or C++. Once you master the basic foundations of Computer Science, you can move on to any topic in Computer Science.

HTML and CSS are recommended b/c they are easy and can then be used with Javascript, which is a great language to learn with. But python is good too guess.
