My speakers were connected to a home cinema that was connected to my pc through AUX. Well I did a rly stupid thing (connected multiple speakers to one output) and turns out I burned the damn thing. Anyways now I need to get a new amp to power these beast speakers. But I don't have any idea how to find these things. I don't know where to look.. nothing. Anyways I only know the wattage of each speaker & the resistance. That is enough right?

From what I can tell that is enough.

I would look for some 5.1 Receiver reviews. Btw aux Output is a terrible idea for "beast" speskers. Try to get something that digitally connects to your PC. Idk HDMI or Coax or something

EDIT: My final answer would be google 5.1 Receiver Review.

3.5 mm is analog and made your Dac obsolete. You listened to your built in Mobo Dac and Amp and the Amp of your speaker system Bro!

This has nothing to do with anything, and isn't particularly helpful to the issue at hand.

It sounds like they aren't particularly beast speakers... 300 Watts is not very much power where speakers are concerned.

+1  I actually use a Denon Receiver for all of my audio needs. Mine Does 7.1, and it works really well. The headphone amp is clean too, and that's nice since it's all hooked up to my desk.

If you want to get something that's decent, and not terribly expensive, then you should go for something from Onkyo. Look at reviews though. I don't think there are too many people around here that are super into home theater audio.

Just remember, when you hook up two speakers (in parallel) you are halving the impedance, and doubling the wattage that the amp has to put out at a given volume. If you wire them in series, however, you are actually doubling the impedance, and halving the wattage. (Or is that the other way around? I think that's the right way)

Basically, if you don't know what you're doing, avoid doing anything that the audio equipment is not specifically built for.

I would be wary with onkyo. Many of there models have HDMI boards that fail.

I would recommend looking used.

You're unlikely to be able to find an audio only receiver that's decent for less than an A/V receiver. It's not like an A/V receiver won't work for Audio only. That's how I use mine.

I've only ever come across one Audio receiver that I can think of, and that thing was around $800. I'm assuming that's likely more than you really want to spend on something like that.

Slight complication, it looks like the OP may be working with a passive subwoofer. Hard to tell at this point, though.

I just connected my speakers to some subwoofer that has a built-in amp. But the amp is much weaker than my old one. It warms up really fast and it starts making buzzing noises when it does. I can't spend more than $100 on this. I'm buying the receiver in this shop: jeftinije.hr
