GTA V stuttering without vsync

Go to solution Solved by BunnyHunter67,

After I restart the game with vsync off my game can't load into singleplayer. Im just going to keep vsync on thanks for the help though. :P

I just got my new benq xl2411z monitor and 1070 for my B-day. CS:GO and other similar titles have been awesome. But in GTA V whenever I disable v sync I get really bad stuttering. I have no clue what is causing this. Thanks for any fixes/troubleshooting tips in advance! :D

Do you run anything beside gta?

Its likely variations in framerate. I would just leave V Sync on to be honest. Whenever I play games like GTA V and the Witcher 3 at 4k I force 30fps V Sync because 30fps is way smoother feeling than  a varied 34-45fps.

Same with 60fps vs a varied 75-80fps.

One thing you can try is make sure to turn off scan for music in the settings menu. If that doesn't help then force it to run at 120fps or something.

But a 1070 should do 70-90 on Max Settings without horrible stuttering!

Try turning off shader cache in the nvidia control panel. This has fixed the major stuttering issues in the game, especially when I'm driving a super car near the towers.

Where do I find this in the control panel?

Not on GTA V. There are certain settings that are extremely demanding. 8xMSAA, Grass and Postfx settings in GTA V are system killers.

4k, High Settings, 2xMSAA 980ti and I only average around 30-35fps. 2560x1440, ultra settings, 4xmsaa and I average 55-60.

Those are averages though, no matter what you push grass to max and go where there is a lot of grass and you're dropping to 20fps no matter what card you have.

Ah well, 1080p with 1080 (Call me dumb) at 100-150 fps

And keep in mind his Monitor is 1080p when you only have numbers for more pixels
