AMD blower card design

I am going to pickup the new Arc Mini R2 from Fractal when it becomes available however I have an issue. The final result of my build will either encompass dual GPU + a riser cable giving PCIe access to a RAID card in the vertical PCI bracket or GPU + RAID card + sound card. Alongside this, all 6 drive mounts in the front will be used. Also there will be a 360mm rad in the roof exhausting air out the top. Now you should be getting an image in your mind of a solid lump of GPU/Raid Card etc next to the motherboard as well as a full front of hard drives.

Now if I've got a standard or even two standard GPU's using a conventional cooling setup of two or three fans exhausting hot air into the case, will things get too toasty?

What I ask is what do you think the likelihood of an AMD blower style card actually being sold is for the new generation? I know the reference design is a blower card however the 7000 series never had those available, at least not for me. My other option at the moment would be a Palit GTX760 for $289 AUD which is a blower card.

Also note, I'm not going to put the cooler as intaking fresh air from the top due to aesthetic reasons.

Wait, wont the riser card thing look bad through the window?

And I am guessing it would get pretty hot..

I think your setup would survive, but not happily with the air exhausting into the case.

I believe blower fan designs are for this type of situation, both in that they perform better than conventional fans when they are in tight places, and that they eject the hot air out of the back of the case.

If you want the blower style fan, and you are getting the 290X, you could pre-order it. Though I'm not sure how much you like BF4.

I'm pretty sure some people will be replacing their coolers with custom heatsinks, so you might be able to buy one off of someone who did pre-order it (I would send you mine, but I won't be getting custom cooling for a while unless you could wait like 5 months to a year, lol).

I think it will get pretty toasty but I'm not too sure a blower card will be available.

As far as I'm aware only the R9 290X & R9 290 cards will be released with the new reference cooler, at least initially, so I'd wait and see.
BUT, a three fan exhaust in a case will keep it extremely well ventilated, however exhausting all the hot air in your case thourgh the rad will definitely negatively affect CPU temperatures, as all the hot GPU air will go through the rad.

That's my major concern - this room is kept at about 22 degrees year round but can easily hit 30 during the summer. I don't want to have to downclock my 3970x over summer. :(

If you have good case airflow then the heat from cards wont be an issue mate. Just be sure to load up some good fans bringing in fresh air to the components :)

The problem is going to be that airflow - even with high quality fans, 6 hard drives are going to make things a nightmare.

I don't imagine it would get super hot but might get a little toasty in there. My friend owns an Arc Mdi R2 with a MSI 7950 TF and a FX-8350 and the temps aren't bad at all with all air cooling as the case has plenty of mesh also 80% of EVGA cards (at least in the US) are blower style if you have nothing against Nvidia.

Mein Führer... I CAN WALK !!

One very important (imo) thing to consider is that this will mean the case will have negative pressure (unless there are a ton of fans I am missing that will be intake). Just a thought.

If you go Crossfire with Blower fans, that's 2 fans as exhaust, technically.

The only thing I have against nVidia is their cost. :(
