Skylake Voltage

I got my 6700k today and have it stable currently at 4.7ghz with 1.335v iirc, (not at home at the moment), but I was curious to see what the maximum safe voltage was. I have been doing some research on it over the past hour of my slow work night and have seen various numbers ranging from 1.35 to 1.45v but nothing that is definitive yet. 

 

What is your guys take on what the maximum safe voltage for everyday usage such as web browsing and gaming.

What is your cooler? 1.4V will be safe. I definitely wouldn't go over though. Just make sure you don't have temps over 85 preferably max 80.

With proper cooling, 1.4-1.45v is no problem.

 

I've been running 1.43v @ 5 ghz for a month now, and haven't had any problems at all, but my CPU is delidded and I have a big loop, so obviously my scenario is slightly different.

Right now I have a swiftech H220 on it but in 2 weeks ill be ordering an EKWB L240 kit to replace it.

Yeah as long as your temps are under 80c or so when you stress test, you'll be fine at 1.4v with that CPU cooler.

That's what I was thinking was Max of 1.4v Just wanted to check with the community since the chips have been out for nearly a year now with no definitely values that I could find.

In intel's official documentation on Skylake they claim the max voltage is 1.52v, but temps will be unsafe at that range.  Even with my huge loop and liquid metal TIM on my CPU, I'd probably still hit 80-90c in stress tests at that voltage.

ahhh, see I was not aware of that. I had been digging around the webs for the better part of the last 1-2hrs and all were just speculation on the 1.35-1.45 and had * with them since there was no hard number they could quote or say for certain.

A lot of people say that 1.35-1.45v because that's where most cooling will hit ~80c which is where most people like to use as the "danger zone"

ive got mine at 1.42 on an AIO cooler and its running solid at 70c, but only 4.5mhz because its shit and being returned because its not even stable there.
