Hello

My computer for the past few months has had a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE when it shuts down or reboots. But it does not happen every time. It seems random. And every time it does crash, before I shut it down, my usbs do not work. I can not add any usbs and when I take one out, My computer still thinks it is there. I can only add new devices if I reboot and make sure they are plugged in at boot. I have tried to update all drivers and I disconnected everything that was non essential from my computer. I have reseeded the ram and graphics card also. Nothing seems to work. I know its a driver issue but I don't know how to fix it. Thanks for any help you can give!!

Open up an elevated command prompt window and type:

sfc /scannow

If it finds any errors, you may have to bite the bullet and reinstall windows.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Well reset Windows before a reinstall. But do a full reset, this would include your user folder. BTW, a reset in Windows is pretty much like a reinstall except it redownloads everything, including the OS and it runs off the Recovery Folder that's hidden on C:\.

Edit: reset only available on Win 8+ (I think but for sure on Win 10.)

Eh, I've had better luck reinstalling than resetting. I usually just skip the reset step if I find myself at that point, and do a full repair reinstall. I could see the logic in following the book, though ;)

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try the  sfc /scannow . I have already refreshed (removes all programs), Reset(Remove both programs and files while not reinstalling) and reinstalling but none of them worked. I will let you know what the sfc brings up

Ok so i ran the sfc /scannow and this is what showed up

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some
of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios.

I also have attached a file.

What should I do from here?

CBS.log

Ok. That will be fine. The chkdsk comes back with no errors on my C: drive and My G: drive. It gives errors on my E: which is my external hard drive and where all of my files are. I will run the fix after I have a backup of all of those files. Thanks so much an dI will try to get my computer to crash again for that DMP
