SLI gtx 1070

Is it worth it? Im about to start my first build and wanted to know if sli gtx 1070 was worth it so that i can get a non-sli mb. Also any Overwatch benchmarks at 1440p on epic settings with sli gtx 1070? Thanks!!

You're better off going with a single 1080. It's cheaper (slightly), and you're guaranteed performance in all games, not at the mercy of developer's support. The 1080 is 25-30% faster than the 1070. At best, in a synthetic benchmark, you're likely to get +40-50% over a 1080, but in games that's more likely to be 25-35% in ones with good scaling. So can it be faster than a 1080? Yes. Is it worth the extra money, headaches, microstutter and heat for 30% better performance in some games? I don't think so, but your mileage may very. I might pick another 1070 up in a year or so used if it's a good price, but I wouldn't go with is as plan A.

Theres the problem though, im not getting the sli config atm, I was gonna build a single gpu with opening for a second one if I ever needed it, so i think ima stick to single card mb for now, and then just upgrade later when technology advances and I get a job.
