New PC issues

Go to solution Solved by Commander_Z,

Solved: turns out it had the wrong type of ram in it, got some new stuff in, and all is well

I turned it on, the cpu fan starts to spin up, but nothing show up on the screen, the power light on it just flashes.

the steps i've taken so far are

Pulling the GPU out to use onboard video: didnt work, monitor light still flashes
Confirmed VGA work by connecting screen to laptop: my laptop screen was duplicated on the monitor
Pulling RAM to force it to make POST beeps which it did beep

How can i remedy this situation so i can install windows on my PC??

Thanks

My system specs are

GTX 660 SC
Gigabyte 78LMT-S2p mobo
AMD FX-6300 CPU
4GB ram
Samsung LS24C300HL/XY 24 inch monitor

Your chip isn't supported by the board, at least not officially. At the very least, you need a BIOS update.

My mobo only has a 4 pin ATX 12v connector in the top left corner

the light that is flashing is on the screen itself when i have turned it on

the system stays on, cpu fan etc spinning up

oh the cpu??

how do i update the bios if i cant see the screen?

it may not be official but you should be fine as its the same socket type....thats weird though.

is the 4pin connector plugged in?
