so im planning my next upgrade which will be a big change and include a custom hardline loop.  im going to be working in an NZXT manta and will be doing a loop with 2 280mm rads cooling both the cpu and gpu. now for the questions:

  1. what temp should i use for controlling my fans? (mobo has a temp sensor probe header)
  2. can i run from a pump in the basement to gpu > cpu > top rad> front rad> res> pump or will the vertical path be a problem with a 100mm res? (d5 pump)
  3. should i do the bends myself or should i spend the extra money and just do 90 degree fittings with straights in between?
  4. should i have an extra fan in the back linked to one of the mobo temp sensors? intake or exhaust?
  5. should i put my drain valve before or after the pump?

thank you for taking the time to read and/or answer these it will really help me.

1. You can use speedfan software to setup all your fans later. You will quickly find out what speeds you need.

2. Yes, it's fine.

3. I'd suggest to go with soft tubing, because it's too much hassle with rigid ones :) Anyways, Do it yourself then, just buy x2-2.5 more tubing, if you're doing it for the first time.

4. Having at least 1 exhaust fan is good - you need some airflow anyways.  I would go with 1-2 intake, 1 exhaust.

5. Try to put your drain valve as low as possible. Before or after the pump doesn't really matter.

i have one final question, for fittings should i use push in or compression?

If your doing hardline you should get hardline compression fittings as they compress an o-ring onto the walls of the tubing to hold it in place.
