Hi guys.

I'm looking to upgrade my rig in the near future and need help deciding what to upgrade.

I'm currently rocking :

AMD FX-4300 Quad Core @ 3.8Ghz

Some Asus MoBo (Irrelivant at this current time)

Gigabyte R9 270x 4GB OC

Mainly used for gaming, I'm not getting the desired performance (1080/60FPS) in games such as Battlefield. This is more of a consern for future titles as I'm not confident that I'll be able to run them.

I'm looking to be spending around 250-300 GBP, Don't know the equivilent USD.

I was originally planing on upgrading my CPU/MoBo, switching over to an Intel i5 4460 + 1150 socket MoBo.

Given my current rig and buget, Is this a wise move, or should I be looking at a new GPU

I'm not looking to be staying with AMD if I'm upgrading my CPU, so please don't recomend another AMD processor.

Thanks in advance

Your 4460 and 1150 mobo idea is the best idea.

Well I would go with the i5 6500 and a cheap motherboard that supports it , this way you will have a "new" germanium processor that's more power efficient

I'm looking to keep my current DDR3 ram, so I wasn't originaly looking at skylake. I've heard that they don't officially support DDR3 ram, so do I need to be looking at a specific 1151 MoBo which supports DDR3 such as: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/asrock-z170-pro4-d3-intel-z170-s-1151-ddr3-ddr3l-satae-2-way-crossfire-realtek-gigabit-lan-usb-30-at
