I am wondering what to upgrade next basically ram and mobo switch to ddr4 or get a different skylake processor

...

Why did you buy Skylake and a DDR3 mobo... That was stupid.

Either sell the CPU and Mobo to swap out for a haswell system (and keep the RAM) or ditch the mobo and RAM to get an actual Skylake board (and keep the cpu).

Yeah, you should have gotten a second hand Haswell system, not a Skylake one. Would have been better than that 6100 of yours anyway.

Yeah hopefully you undervolted it or you might kill your cpu skylake only has support for ddr3l which is not ddr3 because it runs at lower voltages.

But if you game on this computer going for a new gpu like a rx 480, or gtx 1060 would help the most, but that all depends on the budget you have for the upgrade.

 •E5-2670 @2.7GHz • Intel DX79SI • EVGA 970 SSC• GSkill Sniper 8Gb ddr3 • Corsair Spec 02 • Corsair RM750 • HyperX 120Gb SSD • Hitachi 2Tb HDD •

I went back today got a full refund for my board and got a ddr4 one along with ddr4. I know i could have gotten a haswell i5 but if i do this now its less upgrading when i get the money for a skylake i5 or i7
