Hello everyone, I'm QuantumBlink, or for short you can call me Blink (or Quantum I don't really care).

I first heard about Linus from the /r/PCMasterRace subreddit, but I didn't start watching him until the Whonnock server failure video. I then subscribed and I've been here since. I personally enjoy his PC Build logs, his projects, and I also like ChannelSuperFun. An example of what I mean is the recent Most Comfortable Gaming Setup. I really liked that.

I also built my first PC not too long ago in February. I had a terrible Dell prebuilt (i5 2320 Sandy Bridge, iGPU, OEM mobo) which I used to game on (heavily modded Minecraft, Team Fortress 2) but then my dad took me up to the local Micro Center, and with my money we bought the parts and put it together that night. I've always preferred to play on PC however, because all my favorite games were there.

Some of my favorite games are currently Team Fortress 2, Stardew Valley, and Minecraft. (Mods!)

Here's my PC Build by the way if anyone was wondering:

I'm hoping to upgrade to an i5 Skylake for Christmas, and as well start to save up for the new graphics cards. I'm torn between a 1070 or an RX 480.

I look forward to being able to answer questions and asking questions!

Blink

hello, welcome to the forum! awesome to see new people joining :D

how did the dell prebuilt handle modded minecraft? i understand it can get pretty CPU intensive. i've never modded minecraft myself, simply because it's not really my type of game.

I played on a pack called Project Flux, which is a variant of a larger pack known as Resonant Rise. It had at least 200 mods. I played with about 30 fps with nothing around (played on a public server), on a good day maybe 20 fps at my base. Intel 2000 Graphics btw.

Welcome aboard Mr. Blink!

The 1070 is quite the jump from a 480! Depends how impatient you are I guess ;)

I don't play a whole lot of intensive games, but it would be nice to have a nice card down the road when I can actually get a job for myself. (Under 16) And get whatever VR they have then. I don't care about the branding but I like NVIDIA's ShadowPlay :P
