Crossfire Help

Sending out a bit of an SOS here. Just got 2 R9 Fury X's and IT IS STRUGGLING. I have updated to latest Crimson Drivers and Afterburner. Has anyone found a good setting to get Rise of the Tomb Raider? If so, please comment down below.

What happens if you disable CFX and run the game?

It runs on a single card with MUCH better performance.

Get 60 fps at 1080p on on card and about 12 fps with major stuttering on both cards.

Allow me to be a little more specific on my setup...

 

FX9590 @ 5Ghz

Asus Crosshair V Formula Z

Corsair Vengance 16 GB @ 2133Mhz DDR3

Antec 1KW Platinum PSU 

2x XFX R9 Fury X

Why would you do thatttt, for the same price you could get that dinosaur you could've gotten a new mobo ram and a 6th gen I5...

You need a liquid cooler for the 9590 too, thats another 100 dollars. for 260 you could definitely get a new mobo ram and I5, and for 160 you COULD get a new mobo ram and an I3

I got it like new for about $50 and it was hardly even used, so I thought I got a deal.

tbh, intel is still likely to be better, I went with amd's processors and I regret it very much they're good for budget rendering builds, but thats about it.

Do you have any suggestions on settings changes, reg edits, anything? I've disabled frame pacing and disabled ULPS in Afterburner.

try disabling "Power Efficiency"

try DDU and reinstall 16.7.2

is the game in Steam on UWP?

It's in global gaming settings

 

I believe UWP still doesn't support exclusive full screen and therefore no CrossFire

and I believe in UWP you are still forced to VSync at least in RoTR, Forza already got the unlimited FPS patch

Just disable Crossfire. I asked about Pascal vs Volta and people said that SLi and Crossfire will be a thing of the past.

Just sell 1 of the cards, at 1080P it's silly anyway to run Crossfire.
