First of all CrossFire does not require any type of extra connection between the cards and second I am pretty sure that there are much better choices than a RX480 CrossFire

PS.. And do you need 2 2TB harddisks and a 3TB harddisk. And that too from seagate and you even have a SSD

If the motherboard says specifically that it has crossfire support it will.

The one 2tb has since died, and the 3tb will move to a NAS type storage soon. The 2tb is for game installations and temp download storage till it gets moved to the 3tb as I like to keep things organised.
On to the crossfire, previous cards required a physical bridge which has since become redundant, but some motherboards can't create the connection/bridge.
My query was around whether the motherboard could do it, not whether the gpu is best fit for it.

And yes, I will still go with a rx480 x2 before spending double the amount to get a single gtx1080 which offers the same performance from a benchmark point of view. :)

The motherboard has nothing to do with type of cf. If it has crossfire support, then it has it. There should be a little sticker on the box that says crossfire ready.

Some say you need a 16x 3.0 slot per gpu in crossfire without a bridge, but there is no proof that without it you loose performance. With negligible performance loss switching from pcie 1 to 3, you're pretty safe on cf since it is essentially the same as (or even theoretically more than) a 6700k with crossfire.

On a second note the processor will hurt more than anything as the zambnei series really was one of the worst cpu lineups amd ever made. Try to get your hands on like a 8300 or 8320e for like 100 bucks and that will help your performance a lot more.

Motherboard wise that's actually one of the best ones with amd for crossfire, as their motherboards make or break crossfire and sli configurations as the pcie lanes are tied to the Northbridge, not the cpu.

Also not everyone only playes the one hottest new game. Some people have a full library and some people have lots of other media on their pc's. Back when I watched movies, terabytes of storage was good stuff

What's the difference between a 8120 running at 4.5Ghz OC'd and a stock 8350?
As far as I can see it is only base/turbo clock speeds that differ between them.
